Author Guidelines

The editorial board of the Évkönyv (Yearbook) reviews the papers as part of a double-blind peer-review.

The text can be published if it has received at least two anonymous positive reviews. The selection of reviewers is made from the prominent experts in the field, who will be invited by the editorial board. The editorial board guarantees that the author and the reviewers are not from the same institution. In the case of one positive and one negative review, the editorial board requires a third opinion.

Language use: studies are published in Hungarian, Serbian, Croatian or a world language. Each study (in addition to the summary in Hungarian, Serbian or Croatian) must also contain a summary in English. Length - the length of studies can be up to 30,000 characters (including spaces between words). In exceptional cases, the manuscript can reach 50,000 characters. The editor can also publish a longer study if this is justified by the importance of the research.

Manuscript evaluation: each study is evaluated by two reviewers, to whom the author's identity is unknown, and the author cannot know the identity of the reviewer either. All data from which the identity of the author can be inferred may only appear on the cover page, while the text may not contain a comment referring to the identity of the author; parts of this type (for example, references to the author's previous research) should be eliminated from the text. After the reviewer's report, the editors make the decision on the publication of the manuscript. The author will be notified of the decision within three months.

Paper submission: authors send their scientific manuscripts to the following address: evkonyv@magister.uns.ac.rs. Submitted manuscripts will not be returned by the editors.

Formal requirements: texts can be submitted as Word 97-2003, docx version documents written in font size 10, Times New Roman font, delimited. If the thesis is written in Serbian, both Cyrillic and Latin letters are acceptable. When writing the text, it is recommended to use 1.15 line spacing and normal margins. The pages must be numbered.

The first page of the study contains the following data aligned to the left: the author's name, academic degree, position, workplace, the name of the institution, the locality, and the electronic contact information of the author. The e-mail contact information is provided in the journal.

The title of the thesis should be indicated in the language of the study and the abstract(s) 3 lines below the given author data, centered.

The editorial office of the Yearbook handles the linguistic maintenance of the accepted manuscripts. The spelling rules valid from September 1, 2015 apply to the spelling of announcements. In the case of disputed spelling questions, the opinion of the Linguistics and Language Consulting Research Group of the Institute of Linguistics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences is authoritative.

Tables: when editing tables, it is recommended to use double-line spacing (line skipping).

Each table is placed on a separate page, please edit the explanations related to the tables on a separate page. In the case of several tables, we number them sequentially. Each table must be provided with a title explanation, a figure caption with an Arabic serial number placed above them, and a reference to them in the text. The width of the table must not exceed 12 cm.

Graphic attachments: graphic attachments must be attached in capital letters, marked in accordance with the font used in the thesis, in the form of separate files, if possible, in an editable form. The appendix should not contain underlining or shading. Titles and explanations belonging to the graphic annex must be shown on a separate page. Featured images must be sent in a separate file and have a minimum resolution of 300 DPI. In the text, the author is required to refer to the placement of the graphic presentation. The maximum width of the graphic attachment is 12 cm. The source of the figures must always be indicated in parentheses in the caption below the figure.

Abstract (short summary): its length (including spaces) is approximately 1400 characters. It is published in the language of the study and in English. At the beginning of the thesis, it is written in the language in which the thesis is written, and summaries translated into other languages must be submitted in the form of a separate file. In addition to indicating the name of the author and the title of the thesis, the resume must point out the importance of the academic issue, the research process, its goals, methods, results, and the conclusions. Authors also provide the translation of summaries.

Keywords: at the end of the summary, up to five keywords in the language in which the thesis was written. The keywords must be entered in the language of the study and in English (at the end of the English summary).

References: the referred items must be indicated in the literature used at the end of the study, with a division of 1.15 (skipping lines). The names of the referenced authors must always be spelled in the same way in the used literature and in the parentheses used for this purpose in the text. In our journal, we follow the current recommendation of the American Psychological Association (APA) for providing references.

The names of foreign authors (if the languages in question are written in Latin letters) are used in the text in their original spelling, or phonetically in the case of Cyrillic letters; in the latter case, the original spelling of the name must also be indicated along with the year of publication: (Piaget, 1975).

When several authors are listed, alphabetical rather than chronological criteria apply (Foucault, 2000; Merleau-Ponty, 2002; Mészöly, 2002). In the case of two authors, it is necessary to indicate the names of both authors in parentheses (Falus and Golnhofer, 1989). Should a work have more than two authors, the last name of the first author must be indicated in parentheses, followed by the abbreviations of the co-authors, for instance: (Fóris Ferenczi, Orbán, Székely, Vincze, Zágoni, 2003) instead of (Fóris Ferenczi and others, 2003).

At the end of the manuscript, there is a list of the used technical literature, which must contain the names of all authors referred to and quoted in the text, as well as all technical literature items. The literature used should not contain elements that are not referred to in the study. The listed bibliography must be compiled based on the alphabetical order of surnames.

(a) Each item in the list of used technical literature must contain the first letter of the last and the last name of the referred author, as well as the publication data of the publication in question (book, magazine, etc.): year, place and publisher.

(b) The items in the literature are listed as follows:  Szilágyi Zsófia [Zsófia, Szilágyi] (1998): „Aranysárkány: arany + sár”: Egy regénycím nyomában [“Golden Dragon: gold + mud”: in quest of a novel title], Kulcsár Szabó Ernő [Ernő, Kulcsár Szabó] – Szegedy Maszák Mihály [Mihály, Szegedy Maszák] (eds.): Tanulmányok Kosztolányi Dezsőről [Studies about Dezső Kosztolányi]. Budapest: Anonymus, 92–105.

(c) If the referenced article was published in a journal, the bibliography should contain the author's first and last name, the year of publication in parentheses, the title of the article after the parenthesis, separated by a colon, the full title of the journal written in italics, the volume of the journal issue, and the number of the first and last page of the article referred to in the journal: Plomin, R. & S. O. Walker (2003): Annual review: Genetics and educational psychology, British Journal of Educational Psychology, 73, 3-15.

(d) In the case of an Internet reference, the name of the author, the year of publication of the referenced item, the website address in italics, the date of viewing the website and the full address (link) of the website must be indicated: Degelman, D.: APA Style Essentials. Retrieved May 18, 2000 from the World Wide Web http://www.vanguard.edu/psychology/apa.

If an author appears more than once in the bibliography, the corresponding items must be listed according to the year of publication. If a volume has several authors, the list begins with the name of the first co-author, followed by the initials of the other authors. If we cite several publications or volumes of the same author from the same year, we must separate them with letters.

It is not recommended to cite unpublished texts, theses, studies (for example, summaries of professional consultations, manuscripts, master's theses, doctoral dissertations): if the given situation requires this, the most accurate information about the author and the text must be provided.

Footnotes and abbreviations: it is recommended to avoid the use of footnotes and abbreviations. Footnotes may only contain comments or attached text, not data on the referenced items.

Abbreviations appearing in tables, graphic appendices, and illustrations must be resolved and their meaning clarified.

International standards: all measurement units must be used according to internationally recognized and used standards, and rounding can be done taking into account the usable level and scientific standards. The statistical data used must also be used according to international standards.

Authorization of quotations: in the case of longer quotations (longer than 350 characters) from authorized authors, it is necessary to obtain written approval from the author of the quotation. After the quotation, the name of the quoted author, the year of publication of the quoted text and the page number must be indicated in parentheses.

Appendices: those appendices (for example, extensive statistical statements, computer programs, documentation of experiments) that are organically connected to the professional work and are essential, but exceed the specified scope limits, can be submitted to the editor as an attachment to the study, for the purpose of oral assessment.
